If you’re like me and thinking about giving canning a try, you don’t have to rush out and buy all your own jars. Maybe you’re also like I was in being completely oblivious to many sauces and canned goods already coming in a glass jar that says “MASON.” Anything that’s marked with a Mason seal in the jar, you can save and buy replacement lids for.
They even now have plastic screw lids for people who just want to save the jars for regular storage of items like dry pastas, etc. I like putting barley in them, personally. And then you don’t have to worry about BPA and stuff, either. Just use some vinegar to scrub off the sticky label, and you’ve got yourself some pretty, rustic glassware.
Amazon sells canning lids in Ball Regular Mouth Lids And Bands and the wide mouth variety, Ball Wide-Mouth Dome Canning Jar Lid with Band, Box of 12 [Kitchen]
