Speaking as a person who has spent more than one anniversary and Valentine’s Day both at home, you don’t have to do anything exceptionally lavish to make the evening special. A little wine, one of your fancier dinner recipes…
Whatever you do, remember the wise words of Charles M. Schulz: All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
This little cup of dark semi-sweet mocha decadence is perfectly proportioned for two and prepare-able in a few minutes with a coffee mug and a microwave. I usually prefer to add coffee to my mocha fondues, but a half-shot of Kahlua does the trick too for this small quantity. And if you prefer your chocolate sweeter… well, fine, use the milk chocolate.
My point is chocolate. Get me?

Step 1. | In a coffee cup, combine the cream and chocolate. Microwave in 20 second intervals to ensure that the cream doesn't boil over, and stir after about 40 seconds to begin to break down the chocolate. When the chocolate is mostly melted, add Kahlua and vanilla and stir until smooth. |
