I didn’t want to put two apple recipes so closely together, but it can’t be helped! Sometimes a recipe needs a little extra love.
It’s been crazy here on the home-front, what with Christmas coming, articles to write, and an increasing push into trying to make connections within my community. On top of everything, we’ve got early snow! I spent a good 20 minutes out in my driveway shovelling the few inches that dumped on us overnight.
I came in, got my slice of apple bread and my morning cup of tea, and settled in by the fireplace to unthaw with my book. I just wanted a few minutes of “me” time.
I’ve made this recipe a few times now. It’s fab for a quick fix: sweet and tasty, a great low-key dessert bread or breakfast treat.
I think I’m going to make some mini loaves and give it away for Christmas presents.

I’m not great (read: actually terrible) in the kitchen but this looks so positively delicious that I’ve sent it to one of my daughters to make (for me).
Thanks for sharing!

You are welcome! I am a firm believer in KISS when it comes to baking, which is why, although some things taste so wonderful, I can’t be bothered to make them ๐ This one is easy! Just a long bake.

I think so! I’ve yet to meet anybody who hates getting food for Christmas in lieu of some trinkety stuff.

This looks yummy! Have you tried it with gf flour mix? I wonder if it would still be good..

Some of the GF flour mixes are pretty good now… it’s worth a shot! Without yeast, this rises more like a cake than a bread loaf, so you may be able to tweak the leavening if it doesn’t turn out.

I made this with some deliciously aged and softened Okanagan Spies. Not too tart and delicious. Many thanks from BC.

How funny… I also used Spy, but from an orchard down the street from me. Good choice in apple, and glad you enjoyed it! ๐
